Golf PT services

Golf rehab, golf fitness, and a body that can make the swing

Everything starts with a proper look at how you move. From there, treatment and training are built around your body, your golf and your goals, whether that is playing without pain or adding some speed.

Golf movement assessment

A full hour looking at how your body moves in golf positions: hip and upper-back rotation, balance, stability and strength on each side. You leave knowing what is limiting your swing or causing your pain, and what we are going to do about it.

We are not swing coaches. We work on the body, and happily work alongside your teaching pro.

Golf fitness and strength

A golf-specific strength and mobility program built from your assessment, from Phil as a Certified Strength & Conditioning Specialist. Aimed at a more comfortable, more repeatable swing, and at speed for those who want it.

Return to golf after surgery

Once your surgeon clears you, a staged plan back to full swings and 18 holes after a joint replacement, shoulder repair or back surgery.

On Medicare? Medicare rules mean we can't provide medically necessary physical therapy, including post-surgery rehab, to Medicare beneficiaries. We can still help with golf fitness, mobility and performance training. Ask us what is possible.

Balance and stability

Balance work for a steadier stance, uneven lies and walking the course, from a physical therapist who is also a certified vestibular rehabilitation specialist.

In-season tune-ups

Regular sessions through the Arizona golf season to keep small aches from becoming the thing that stops you playing.

Your first visit

What a golf physical therapy session looks like

A full hour, one-on-one, at your home, club or gym. Bring your clubs if you like: seeing a few swings helps us connect what we find to what happens on the course.

  1. 01

    Assess

One-on-one for the whole session. We talk through your golf, your history and your goals, then test how your body moves through the swing.

  2. 02

    Treat

Hands-on care to settle what is irritated, and a clear explanation of why it hurts and what makes it better.

  3. 03

    Train

A short, golf-specific program you can actually stick to, progressed visit by visit until you are playing the way you want.

  • A clear explanation of what is going on and why
  • Hands-on treatment in the first session
  • A short home program you can do in 10 to 15 minutes
  • An honest estimate of how many visits you will need
Cost and insurance

Good to know before you book

Do I need a referral to see a physical therapist for a golf injury?

No. Arizona is a direct access state, so you can see a licensed physical therapist without a referral or prescription from your doctor.

Where do sessions take place?

Phil comes to you: your home, your office, your gym, or your club where it allows visiting providers. Everything needed for the session comes with him.

Do you take insurance?

Boundless is an out-of-network provider. You pay a transparent rate agreed before treatment, and we can give you a superbill on request to submit to your insurance company. HSA, FSA and HRA funds can generally be used for qualifying physical therapy; golf fitness and performance sessions usually do not qualify, so check with your plan.

I'm on Medicare. Can I still work with you?

Medicare has strict rules about physical therapy, so we cannot provide medically necessary physical therapy to Medicare beneficiaries. We can still work with you on services that are not medically necessary, such as golf fitness, strength and conditioning, and performance training. Call us and we will tell you honestly what is possible.

How many sessions will I need?

It depends on the problem and how your body responds. Every session is a full hour one-on-one, and you will get an honest estimate at your first visit, reviewed as you progress.

Book an evaluation

Ready to play without the ache?

Tell us a little about your golf and what is bothering you. Phil will get back to you promptly to set up a time that works around your tee times.
